It might have been a year of the dragon for the American RnB singer and rapper Mark Althavean Andrews aka Sisqo but Uganda is one place he will live to tell after he almost failed to perform due to a low turn up of fans.
Last Saturday was the Sisqo-Azonto show at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds that left the organisers confused as by 9:00pm, the venue had more empty seats than guests. This did not surprise some bearing in mind that the same had happened to Judy Boucher, Wayne Wonder and DeMarco a few days back.
It's not clear if the biting economy as revealed by Jose Chameleone's 'Moto Moto' is responsible, or the amount being charged is way too high but what is clear is that the last three shows have fallen short of average numbers.
The SisQo-Azonto show had less than 500 guests of which 40 were VIP in a venue that can accomodate 20,000 people. This disturbed the organisers now that the event had been widely advertised and the artiste was fairly popular.
Local artistes like Jose Chameleone, Jackie Chandiru and Leila Kayondo among others performed paving way for the Watch me do my Azonto, Azonto star from Ghana. It was after his performance that Sisqo hit the stage.
Sisqo put up a splendid performance which was every inch worth it as he did most of his hits that included the crowds favorite 'Unleash the Dragon'.
