
Ugandan rap star Jocelyn Tracy Keko signs landmark deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
Sony Music Entertainment Africa has announced the signing of female rapper Keko to Sony RCA label making her the first Ugandan to join the global roster which has the likes of Alicia Keys, Usher, Chris Brown and Christina Aguilera among others.
The 25-year-old East African female rapper hit the music scene in 2010 and two years later, her breakthrough single 'How We Do It' took the 2011 channel O video music award for most gifted East African Video. Its also the official super sport song.
The RCA Africa Director, Damaskinos Spiro said: "We are very excited to have Keko on the RCA roster, she is a highly talented and experienced rapper who brings a fresh take to the scene. We have a clear vision for Keko and believe that with this partnership we will take Keko to new heights that will broaden her fanbase and open up new markets for her."
Keko had this to say over the Sony deal: "I'm very excited to take my career to the nexr level with one of the biggest record labels in the world, this is a great opportunity for me and the Kekonians to emabrk on a new journey. I am very hard working and I'm excited to be part of the Sony Music family of artists and its evident that we all share the same passion for music."
Meanwhile, Keko's latest hit 'Make you Dance' featuring Madtraxx from Kenya has got two nominations in this years Channel O Music Video Awards.
