The competition which is open to all unrecorded artistes including those under 18 provided they get consent from their guardians will have the best 30 participants qualify for a two-day resident camp screening at Ndere Centre.
Coca-Cola has teamed up with New Vision that will be broadcasting the show live on its TV network that include Bukedde, Urban TV and TV West. To participate, one is required to buy a coke and a form will be availed. Supermarkets across the country and Coke outlets have these forms.
All participants are required to do original compositions or Ugandan songs. Maurice Kirya, Siima Kyomuhendo and Sharp Sewali will be the judges. In 2004, the Coca Cola popstar search came up with the Blu3(Jackie, Lillian and Cindy) who have since embarked on solo careers.
Meanwhile. Cindy tried holding her first concert mid last year but that was the period when KCCA came up with the ban on late night performances forcing her to postpone. She is now back with Amateeka Concert which will be taking place on 01-Feb-2013.
