Facebook is good after all. On Tuesday morning, a driver of a white Land Cruiser Prado (UAS series) knocked dead a security guard attached to Saracen U Ltd around Lugogo By-pass and sped off. Information was posted on social networks by eye-witnesses, a move that prompted police to mount a search for the driver, but before they could get him, he reported to Jinja Road Police Station. "After information was posted on Facebook, I had to report to police," Said the owner of the vehicle who is currently at Jinja Police for further questioning. Much as the owner of the vehicle reported to police, that is not enough evidence as witnesses are required. Police is now calling on eye witnesses to come and make statements regarding the incident. The Uganda Police Force (UPF) now have an active social media presence. The Police Force is these days serious with drink-driving and they intend to intensify with the operation, but the booze heroes are not sleeping, they have formed a group on facebook with over 500 members to share updates or warn fellow members on where the road blocks are.
