           Hon. Eriya Kategaya RIP
The First Deputy Minister and childhood friend of President Museveni died in a Nairobi hospital yesterday evening. Hon. Eriya Kategaya died at the age of 67 from a suspected blood clot in one of his legs.

He met President Museveni at Ntare School and later proceeded to Dar-es-Salaam University in Tz where they hatched plans for an armed liberation. This led to the fall of Gen. Tito Okello Lutwa.

Hon Kategaya has served in key government positions for over 35 years and at the time of his death, he was the First Deputy Minister and Minister for the East African Community.

President Museveni was saddened by the death of Mzee Eriya Kategaya, a childhood friend and comrade in the struggle for freedom. It is a big loss to the Nation may God comfort his family, the President said through his official wall.

Close family members say, the body might arrive in Uganda on Monday, which is the day the Kenyans go to the polls to elect the next President and on Tuesday, his body will lie in state at Parliament for public viewing and likely to be burried on Thursday.
