President Elect Uhuru Kenyatta
The Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission Isaack Hassan has declared Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta as the duly elected President of Kenya in the March 4 Kenyan Elections. Uhuru Kenyatta won with 50.07% of the vote. Registered voters were 14,352,533 and the votes cast were 12,330,028.

The President-elect came shortly after the announcement at Bomas of Kenya in the company of his wife to pick the certificate. It has been a long journey for the son of the first President of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta. Uhuru's main rival Raila Odinga has been quoted saying that:"He will contest the presidential results in court."

According to the IEBC, this election had the largest voter turn out ever. The final announcement was to be made on Friday, but the IEBC CEO, James Oswago announced that his entire team was exhausted and they preferred to announce the results on Saturday morning at 11:00am.

The announcement was made at 2:42pm. The President-elect will be sworn in on 26-March -2013. President elect Uhuru Kenyatta will be making his acceptance speech shortly at the Jubilee Media Centre, Catholic University.
