On Tuesday morning, reports circulated on various media platforms that the Guli Mu Giya Nene singer, Martin Angume was dead. Martin was admitted at Mulago Hospital last Sunday following a general body weakness. The singer was being taken care of by his wife, Julie Namugga.
While at the hospital, Angume slipped into coma after being told of the death of his close pal, Geoffrey Dungu aka Dandaloo of Jeckaki band leading to the rumour that the 'Switch' singer had passed on, but he later recovered. Julie's phone was ringing non stop with others passing on condolence messages, but she kept on telling them that Martin was alive.
Gen Mega Dee and Bobi Wine were among the artistes who went to check on him at the National Referral Hospital in Mulago, ward 6 after it turned out that there were lots of conflicting messages on whether the singer was dead or not.
Angume's facebook account was full of RIP messages and others asking him to at least make a post on his wall to clear the space, but all this was not possible as the singer was still in coma at the time.
By this evening, the singer had improved greatly and doctors were thinking of having him discharged. Singers like Desire Luzinda who did not sleep last night and Sarah Zawedde were able to breathe a sigh of relief when it turned out that Martin was getting better and not dead. By this evening, the messages on his wall had long changed from RIP's to wishing him a quick recovery.
