All the contestants from Uganda made it to the academy and these include: Derrick Kojo, Undercover Brothers, Daisy Ejang and Sitenda Kisakye. The underCover brothers (Kakiika Abdul and Kirya John) did a rendition of Craig David's 'Walking Away' putting a bit of Luganda in it. The fans got into a heated argument on which group did better between Uganda and Kenya. Kojjo did Maurice Kirya's Mulembe Gwa Kirya while Sitenda nailed Mr. Jaila by Asa. Sitenda's voice was being compared to last year's winner Ruth Matete by a host of fans and going by her first performance, she is promising, but this being day one, it looks like too early to judge but so far so good. The show was live on Urban TV and Citizen TV. Our very own Juliana Kanyomozi, and the no nonsense Ian Mbugua plus Hermy B were the judges. The hosts for the show were none other than Dr. Mitch Egwang and Joey Muthengi, though being her first time, a section of fans seemed to prefer Sheila Mwayingha. The other contestants include: Phiona and Patrick from Rwanda, Hope from Burundi, Bior from South Sudan, Angel and Hisia from TZ and the Kenyan housemates include: Jenipher, Mishel, Amos&Josh, Fess and Sueoncey. In the end, fans from Uganda were treated to a free opening gala show at Club Silk which had Tusker Lager on the house plus perfromances from artistes like Cindy Ssanyu.
