The 'Akalimu' concert is the first of it's kind and a unique opportunity for music lovers who could otherwise be left out for not having money to part with for the show. It's the first concert that a Ugandan artiste has put up and not having to charge a penny as entry fees. In most cases, it has always been that part of the proceeds go to charity but on this particular concert, one is required to come with clothes, sugar, soap or food that will be donated to the affected communities. "People lost lives, property and their livelihood. It is now time to remember our own people and do something they will never forget." Bobi Wine said in a statement. The Bududa landslides and the Kasese floods among others were the driving force behind this bold move. Bobi Wine's wife, Barbie rallied behind him through this message: "We give what we can and you too can do the same. Sacrifice something and give a hand. Agali awamu gegaluma enyama!" meaning; together we can! However, much as the show is free, this does not give the revellers access to the platinum and VIP section as they will be strictly on invite only basis. One top Fire Base Crew female fan who recently got a 'Firebase' tattoo will certainly win herself a platinum and also get a special mention as a top fan. It's important to note that Chameleone and Bebe Cool held their 'Badilisha' and 'Kokodiosis' concerts which were both successful but Akalimu will be one show and it will be FREE!
