Rema Namakula's maiden concert was more than a success

Yesterday was Rema Namakula's maiden concert at Hotel Equatorial parking. The fast-rising star who hit the stage at 11:00pm after several curtain raisers could not believe the love her fans had shown her. Within minutes of her show, her voice had given way but this did not deter the fans from singing along and demanding for anthem, 'Kukaliba'.

The deep-dimpled singer broke down thanking them for the overwhelming support. Below is full statement that was released today of Rema expressing her gratitude for yesterday's show.

I cannot put into writing what your presence last night offered to me, most importantly to my music journey. You are the basis of all this and it was a distinct honour to be in receipt of your service last night.

I have previously attended and performed on many concerts for different artists and big events where I witnessed a mob turn up of people not knowing that my turn was knocking on my door.

I'm sure my mentors and family loved the fact that my concert could be honoured in such a way and the respect that all of you showed when I whispered to you that I had a concert on 18 Oct 2013 at Equatorial parking. Thank you for the applause, I really cherish it.

The love that you showed will not be forgotten and was a great tribute to my music journey. You made me realize that no matter what they say, "Yes I Can." Thank You So Much, Namakula Rehema.
