Bebe Cool is all smiles after the highl court in Kampala awarded him Shs380m following his being shot at by a policeman in 2010. Initially, Bebe Cool had asked for Shs800m to cover for the period he was bedridden and operating on a wheel-chair.
Bebe Cool was shot twice in the thighs by a one Alfred Achikan at Centenary Park as he walked towards Nakumatt Oasis with members of his Gagamel Crew.
As they walked, they came across night patrol policemen who were exchanging bitterly with a couple they had found in a car. Bebe asked: "What is your problem?", but at the time, one of the Gagamel members' was exchanging bitterly with David Oluka, a police cop and even tried to disarm him.
This was when Alfred resorted to shooting in the air to try and disperse them, a move that did not scare off the Gagamel crew members who were charging at him, he fired several bullets at close range, and that was how Bebe Cool was shot in both legs. His bodyguard Alan Masengere, Kaiza and Kabobyo were seriously injured in the process. The rest of the Gagamel Crew who were still standing took off in different directions.
Bebe Cool was rushed to Nsambya Hospital and later to America for specialized treatment. On coming back, he was so grateful to the President for the financial support he extended to him.
