"After an emotional, 9-week rollercoaster, the final 3 were whisked away to New York City, where they had to impress the high-powered agents at one of the world's top agencies: DNA Model Management. In the end, Aamito from Uganda reigns supreme, and now stands as the first-ever Africa's Next Top Model. Congratulations Aamito!"
Since November 10, 2013, 12 supermodels have been battling it out for the top prize that includes a 1-year modeling contract with DNA, a New York based modeling agency and a cash prize of $50.000 among others. This was the first season hosted by Nigeria's supermodel Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi under the close supervision of supermodel, Tyra Banks.
The Grand finale was live on DSTV's Africa Magic channel 151 at 20:00 EAT. Africa's next top model is a franchise of America's Next Top Model.
The nine contestants who were eliminated in the past nine weeks include: Nigeria's Joyce and Omowunmi, South Africa's Cheandri Van Blerk, Michelle and Rhulani, Kenya's Stefi, Ghana's Roselyn Ashkar, Tunisia's Marwa Faiza and Mozambican model, Safira Mariquele.
