Nyanda Thorbourne in town

RnB reggae artiste, Nyanda of the ex-Brick N Lace sister-group is in town ahead of her performance on Women's day at Garden City Rooftop. Talent Africa's Aly Alibhai was at the airport to receive her.

Nyanda will be performing with local artistes that include Keko, Cindy, Jackie Chandiru, Sheebah Fille and Irene Ntale.

The 'Slippery When Wet' singer is determined to take her solo career to higher levels. "After being one half of a group for so long, the time has come for me to find myself as a whole... to stand on my own two feet, and I am feeling the pressure. I try not to think about it too much so I am just concentrating on the music," she told one publication from Jamaica.

As part of her European Tour that starts in March, Nyanda will perform in Holland and she says; "Holland will not be the same after this."
