88.5 Super FM's CEO, Pastor Peter Sematimba has been evicted from Muyenga Club. Peter had assumed ownership of the club following the passing of it's owner, Paul Ssebalu, who was found dead on Friday, November 8, 2013 at his home. He suffered from diabetes and hypertension.
A funeral service was held at 8pm on Saturday, and on Sunday 10, 2013 the veteran advocate who died aged 88 was buried. Themi Nakibuka Sebalu, a cousin to Peter Sematimba was Sebalu's only child who arrived three days after his burial. Efforts to delay the burial ceremony led by Peter Sematimba so that she could attend were frustrated.
On December 11, 2013 Peter Sematimba transferred Muyenga Club into his name something that forced Themi to drag him to court over what she termed as a fraudulent transfer of her father's land.
On Wednesday (Mar.5.2013), Court bailiffs together with police raided Muyenga Club which had since changed name to Muyenga Resort Club to evict Peter Sematimba. The eviction process was peacefull. Court bailiff Moses Kirunda who was overseeing the process noted that the transfer was forged and that the property belonged to Themi Nakibuka Ssebalu.
Employees who were demanding for their salary for the last three months were left stranded as some did not even have transport back.
