The Golden Band, a new group that broke away from Eagles Production has been stopped from holding concerts on the 20th and 21st of April 2014. The interim order of relief issued by the Nakawa court also affects De Nu Eagles of Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu who were to have their concerts on the 16th and 18th of May, 2014.
Balaam Barugahare rushed to court when Eagles Production split and yet he had paid them to perform during Easter season but the group split just weeks after the deal. Apparently, Balaam is demanding for shs 320m and he says that if it gets to shs 600m, he will be left with no choice but to attach their hotels and houses. The two parties are expected in court today.
Some of the Golden Band members that include; Grace Sekamatte and Maureen Nantume are very bitter over this. "Be careful who you call a friend, some people will show you that you are useless and when you decide to move on, they follow you with an intent to drag you down, but, God will be on our side, Golden We Go," Grace Sekamatte wrote.
Golden Band has been faced with a few challenges. First, it was the name (Golden Production VS.Golden Band) which they were able to resolve and now their concerts have been put on hold. This was expected anyway now that Balaam was paying for the entire team to perform at his shows.
