The Uganda Cranes made Uganda proud by beating the Madagascar national football team (Barea) by one goal which is the very goal needed to move on to the next level. During the game, President Museveni using his wall had some encouraging words for the players.

"I am very proud of our young people; Onyango, Iguma, Majwega, Mwesigwa, Kizito, Massa, Okwi and colleagues in the Uganda Cranes. Wish you victory over Madagascar's Barea. Give your all, I'm following closely."

Geoffrey Massa scored the only goal after a pass from Emma Okwi. Chris Duke Thomas, Princess Komuntale's ex joined other Ugandans in celebrating the win a move that left many fans excited, they even promised him another babe.

On a sad note, a top female fan, Mercy Nshemereirwe, died on her way to Namboole stadium in a car accident along Kampala-Mpigi road.
