Interpol boss, Asan Kasingye, has confirmed that television personality David Kazoora was arrested Thursday in Rwanda over breach of trust.
Kazoora opened up a media advertising company with a friend but the two fell out when he (Kazoora) opened up another company with similar names, thus breaching the trust.
Kazoora teamed up with Davis Genza to open up Buddies Production Rwanda Ltd which has a workforce of about 30 employees. It was not long before they got business with Rwanda Airtel worth Shs80m that required them to do a countrywide campaign called Birahebuje One.
Kazoora timed when Genza was busy with his wedding preparations and opened up another company that has similar roles with (BPRL).
"He used his newly formed company and went to Airtel. He got the contract and used all the employees of the first company to run the operations. In doing so, the source explains that Kazoora smartly hoodwinked the Airtel officials who assumed it was business as usual."
Kazoora's lawyers are now working hand in hand with the Uganda Embassy in Kigali to have him released on bond. If convicted, he faces between six months and two years in jail.
