Social networking sites were awash with a picture of a man who had lost his left leg to a shark. A Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) soldier was among those who came to the rescue of the shark attack victim. This made it look like it had happened at Entebbe causing a scare to beachgoers.
It has since been established that the victim was a South African in Somalia. On the fateful day, the pilot had gone swimming when the predator attacked. He was first rushed to Nairobi Hospital and later transferred to South Africa. At the time, he was in coma and the latest info before us indicates that he did not make it.
You can now relax after all, it was not at Spennah Beach, but when it comes to water, it's important you take precautions while swimming.
