His music journey is one that baffles even the top dogs in the music industry, not even Mun G's airtel advert of 'Toidi Luzungu' can apply to him as he explained a few weeks back while in the US;
"gw'a ate munange olaba abayimbi bafe bwebatakozesa jamaican accent bakozesa nigerian kati olwo fe tugwa mu category ki bwetuyimba olunzugu in our own way nga muvuma so nga ate amawanga amaalala gatufuna bulungi nsaba mukireze twenyumireze mukyetulina tuja kuyitawo nze eno nkutula deal everyday kuba kyakute ebyadala..."
Translated as; "Our artists have also resorted to using Jamaican or Nigerian accents, and when I sing using English in my own way, I'm abused yet fans elsewhere in the world do get me well. I'm appealing to all of you to appreciate your own artists, as a country, we will all benefit.
After spending a few months in the US, the Sitya Loss singer Eddie Kenzo was back in Uganda but for a few hours before proceeding to Tanzania. It's where he learnt of his latest award, 'Best New Music Act (Africa)' in the just concluded Afro Australian Music and Movie Awards.
Last week, Eddy Kenzo and Navio were the only Ugandans nominated in the Channel O Africa music video awards 2014. Interestingly, they are both in the same category of 'Most Gifted East'. The others in that category include; Sauti Sol, Diamond and Elani.
I thank you fans for the love and support but don't forget to vote for me in the category of 'Most Gifted East '
