Legendary news anchor, Dan Kyazze (72), died this morning at Kadic hospital after battling cancer for the last five months. One of his ardent listeners wrote this;

He started reading news in the 1960's on the then UTV and Radio Uganda. At the time of his death, he was the Luganda news anchor for 87.9FM Radio Akaboozi where he has been for the last ten years. "He will be dearly missed as he is part of the team that started the station, " said the Finance Minister, Maria Kiwanuka who is also the Akaboozi Radio proprietor.

His son Dan Kyazze Jr. says that they are still waiting for some relatives to arrive before they decide on when to bury. There will be a vigil at his home in Nateete.
