The Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, has said that star singer Jose Chameleone is not above the law. "All we are waiting for is a written instruction from the DPP's office and we will go on to have him arrested." "Today, I spoke to the officer in charge of this case and he told me that he still has the file and also waiting for further instructions," The Police spokesperson said during a press conference held at CPS on Thursday. Robert Karamagi's father, Maj Benedict Kyamanywa, told journalists on Thursday that he continues to be haunted by his son on the progress of the case, so this time around, he will follow the matter to the very end to ensure that justice prevails. Many had started wondering why the case that was closed in 2012 is coming up now, but Major Benedict explained that having been on AMISOM duties in Somalia, he did not have enough time to pursue the case, but now he has. "I can hardly rest due to the constant nightmares," Major Kyamanywa added. When the case was closed, he was not told what had transpired, so on coming back to the country, he demanded to see the Director of Public Prosecution, Michael Chibita, who in turn discovered some flaws in the way the case was handled, thus ordering for the re-opening of the file. Chameleone will now have to report to Katwe police station to respond to the new evidence that Karamagi's father has provided. It's said that Chameleone doused Karamagi with aviation fuel and then set him ablaze. The star singer is yet to comment on the matter.
