The postmortem report for the fallen dance-hall singer, AK47, is out and it reveals, the 25-year-old died from drug overdose. His skull cracked as a result of the fall.
Akay was pronounced dead at Nsambya Hospital after he was rushed to the health facility on collapsing in the washrooms of DeJavu Pub, it has since been closed to pave way for investigations in the case filed under; SD:101/13/2015.
Akay's mom does not believe in the postmortem report but also, she was quick to add, even if I reject, will it make a difference, let my son rest in peace!
His dad, Gerald Mayanja is seeking an audience with Diamond Oscar and a one DJ Bobby who were with AKay on the fateful night at Dejavu, a bar owned by Team No Sleep's manager, Jeff Kiwa. Akay and his brother Pallaso are members of Team No Sleep.
At the time of his death, he had recorded a gospel song, 'Ndimulokole', which means; 'I'm a Born Again' it was to be premiered end of this month at Club Silk, but that has not come to pass.
Meanwhile, fans, friends and relatives converged at National Theatre to pay their last respects to the Kagawandagaza singer. They waited in the scorching sun for hours to mourn the talented artist and by 5:00pm, it's when the A-Plus Mercedes hearse which was transporting the body arrived at the cultural centre where the body will spend the night.
At some point, the lines were stretching all the way to Dewington road and UBC offices. Radio and TV stations were the whole of Tuesday playing AK47's music, the majority of callers were requesting for his music.
