Miles Rwamiti was yesterday detained at Oliver Tambo airport briefly after he failed to convince aiport authorities why he had flown into the Madiba land with cameras and TV equipment.
Local artistes, Mary Bata of the Disappointment fame and Haruna Mubiru will be performing in Capetown on Mar 29. Bukedde TV's Sherry Matovu and Miles Rwamiti will be hosting the show which will also be live on their respective TV shows, 'Kulya Kaasi' and 'Koona Ne NTV' here in Uganda.
Just like Robin Kisti covered the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her Login program, Miles Rwamiti went to South Africa to cover Mary Bata and Haruna Mubiru for his KOONA Ne NTV segment, but unfortunately for him, he was not able to rap his way out the way Robin Kisti does it, thus failing to convince the immigration officials.
Cops at Oliver Tambo airport were called in to interrogate Rwamiti and others further on why they should be let in with camera's and other TV equipment. It was a walkover for Robin Kisti who came into the country to cover The 2015 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA's), but it was more difficult task for Miles to convince the officials that he was there for purposes of covering a one Mary Bata at a pub in Cape Town.
It took the intervention of a Sangoma friend down south who came to his rescue, but they instead recorded everything on clips which are now doing rounds on social media.
Fellow TV host, Douglas Lwanga, of NTV The Beat informed the viewers that Miles was safe and sound and not in prison as it was widely believed. It's now left to see what Miles will tell his viewers as there is no mention of it on his twitter profile.
