Garissa University massacre

Garissa University - A total of 147 people were killed in neighbouring Kenya on April 2, 2015. 79 were injured and 587 were evacuated. Four gunmen were killed. Somalia-based Al-Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility for the assault.

"This is a moment for everyone throughout the country to be vigilant as we continue to confront and defeat our enemies," Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said.

Yesterday's attack was deadlier than the Westgate massacre in September 2013 that left 67 dead.
