Ex-NTV news anchor, Rosemary Nankabirwa, who has been battling with a debilitating cancer disease for some time now was yesterday evening transferred to Aga Khan hospital in Kenya. The chartered flight landed at Wilson airport in Kenya at about 5:00pm. Hundreds of people including law makers, religious leaders, journalists, artists and comedians among others turned up at Serena Conference parking to wash and also have their cars washed at 50,000/- per car to raise funds for Nankabirwa's medication costs. The fundraising was a successful event. The car wash at Serena Hotel raised shs 33.2/- million and on adding the 60m that had earlier been collected from different sources, the figure shot to 93m, slightly below the required amount. President Museveni also contributed shs 5M/- to the #HelpRosemary cancer fund. "We need a better health care, Rosemary is very lucky she is known to many, what of those other Ugandans that have no one that knows them or have no one that can do such an activity to raise for them money...
