The body of Rosemary Nankabirwa arrived in the country yesterday evening. There will be a requiem service today, Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 2:00pm.
Kampala Executive Aviation (KEA) transported the body from Kenya to Uganda at no cost as part of their commitment to give back to the community. The pioneer news anchor died on Sunday just hours after being flown to Aga Khan University Hospital in Kenya.
According to an operations officer with KEA, the flight left Wilson airport in Nairobi at 4:40pm and touched Entebbe airport at 5:40pm, no one was on board except Nankabirwa's remains. Rosemary's mom came on a 9pm flight to Entebbe to join other mourners in Kanyanya.
The vigil will be at Kanyanya tonight. Rosemary will be buried tomorrow in Kinoni near Kyotera in Masaka at 2:00pm. May her soul rest in peace.
These two months have not been easy. Musician AK47, veteran news anchor Bbale Francis, State prosecutor Joan Kagezi and now Rosemary Nankabirwa, who got a story and presented with sincerity, are all gone.
