Local singer Harriet Kisakye was buried today at Bunnamwaya Catholic Church. The fallen singer had hinted on plans to stand for the Wakiso Woman MP on the FDC ticket but all those plans have been dashed. Thousands attended the funeral in Bunamwaya church where the artist used to go for prayers and it was her wish that she is buried at the same church. The Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Rubaga South MP Ken Lukyamuzi, and former FDC leader Dr. Kizza Besigye were among the mourners. Bunamwaya police was busy as many were arrested for pick-pocketing and other related crimes. Andrew Benon Kibuuka spoke on behalf of the artists but also warned all those who have made it a habit of declaring artists dead when they are still alive. Rev. Musajjakawa told artists to turn to God and stop thinking they are being bewitched. Harriet died at the age of 33, she is survived by two children. Her body was taken to National Theatre on Sunday by about 6:00pm and by Monday morning, the body was transferred to Nsambya Hospital and later Bunamwaya church.
