Three girls are nursing serious but not life-threatening injuries after a severe beating at a bar located on Acacia avenue in Kampala. The incident happened on Saturday when six girls went for a girl's night out at Wink Bar but the night turned into a nightmare when what was supposed to be a fun moment left them with cane-marks on their arms and thighs. "We tried explaining to security that our sister is above 18 and trying to show them an ID, but they did not want to listen, instead, a boda boda guy at that stage got a branch from a tree around that area and handed it to the security that forcefully let us out beating all of us. One of the girls was really hurt on the arm, another on the thigh then the other on finger," Vanessah Lipswizy (facebook avatar) wrote. Wink Bar has responded to the incident with a CCTV backup and in their response they say, it's a false allegation after they reviewed the CCTV footage and also interviewed the guards who were on duty that night. "Five girls came to Wink premises at about 2 am in the morning, four were allowed in and one denied entry because of being under age. The girls became unruly and abusive towards security. One of them picked a brick and tried to attack the policeman who was at the gate and she was chased down the road." "Non of our staff got involved in running after her and non of our staff beat up any of the girls. We are consulting our lawyers with a view to taking legal action against whoever is involved in tarnishing our name with these malicious lies," A source from the Wink Bar Restaurant and Lodge said in a statement.
