NTV apologizes for Pizza Besigye error

The Serena Hotel based TV station, NTV Uganda has come out to apologize for the error on Dr. Kizza Besigye's name. In their 9pm bulletin, the news ticker had his Kizza name written as Pizza Besigye.

"FDC'S PIZZA BESIGYE CHARGED AFRESH WITH TREASON." Well, letters 'K' and 'P' are not necessarily that close on a keyboard but in a way, they are.

"When the newsroom could seriously use a pizza fete. But on a serious note, we do apologize for this error in the tickers of last night's bulletin. Each day we endeavor to eliminate these errors. Our apologies," a source noted on their wall.

Dr. Kizza Besigye is faced with treason charges following a swearing-in clip that appeared online. He was arrested on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 a day before President Museveni was sworn in for the fifth term. The former FDC presidential candidate was remanded to Luzira Prison till June 01, 2016.
