During the Nkwatako concert, Sheebah Karungi thanked Jeff Kiwa, her current manager for all the efforts in making her what she is today. It should be recalled that Sheebah was in the now defunct Obsessions group which had the likes of Jackie Tusiime, Sharon O [who later represented Uganda in the Big Brother Africa] and Cleopatra Koheirwe, a radio personality and actress, among others.
Justine Nameere, a former host of Life Stories on NTV came out to say that; "During her days at the Obsessions, Sheebah was a backbencher that not even the video camera's could capture, but today, she is a top musician with hit after hit and had a most successful concert in recent times."
These words did not go down well with the group's head, Ronnie Mulindwa who came out to defend his position and also asked Justine to do more research or forever keep mum.
"Sheebah was never a back bencher in Obsessions. She went through the ranks like all and actually was one of the lead singers by the time she left. She was never denied the mic she was actually taught and made into what Jeff Kiwa now has."
"She was shaped into the performer she is now. And by the way, Let Sheebah enjoy her moment while it lasts, Am sure she doesn't need anyone to try and remind her of how she was this and that and now she is that. Some of us know her Journey from scratch."
Before joining Obsessions, Sheebah was a dancer in Stingers dance group where she doubled as a karaoke singer, it's where Ronnie got her, sources add that the Akkuse singer could not even speak English at the time.
