Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo wins GOLD in IAAF 2017
Jacob Kiplimo, 16, made Uganda proud this afternoon when he won a gold medal in the 8km U-20 Men's race at Kololo Airstrip. Jacob is the first Ugandan to win the (IAAF) World Cross Country Championship. He will earn $30,000.
President Museveni and the First Lady also Minister of Education and Sports attended. Kenya won a total of 7 medals that included 3 Gold medals
"I congratulate Jacob Kiplimo for winning the Men's Under 20 Gold at the IAAF World Cross Country Championship here in Kampala. The country is proud of you," President Museveni wrote.
"Congratulations Kiplimo Jacob! Congratulations Team Uganda. Thank you for raising our flag high. You did well today. We're very proud of you," The First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni added.
Their daughter turned 7, a few days back.
