Pop star Michael Jackson had lethal levels of Propofal in his body when he died according to the search warrant affidavit unsealed in Houston today.
Dr.Conrad Muray told cops he had been treating insomnia by administering 50mgs of propofal through an intravenous line. Dr.Murray feared the pop star was developing an addiction for the drug so he reduced the dosage to 25mgs but also mixed it with midazolam and lorazepam which are sedatives according to the report released in Houston.
The morning Jacko died, Murray gave him valium at 1:30am but it did not work so he gave him an iv of lorazepam 30 minutes later. At 3:00am Jackson was still awake Dr.Murray added midazolam. The coming hours, Dr.Murray administered several drugs. At 10:40am Dr.Murray added 25mgs of propofal but Jackson demanded more of it according to the court records.
Propofal was administered by Murray but there was no evidence he had purchased, ordered or obtained it under his medical license. Police however found 8 bottles of propofal, pills and vials in the house which had been prescribed by Dr.Murray, Dr.Allan Metzger and Dr.Arnold Klein.
Dr.Murray has already admitted to administering propofal the morning Michael Jackson died and in an interview with the police, Murray said that he left Jackson alone under the influence of the medication to contact his Houston office and family members. On returning, Jackson was not breathing. So he performed CPR as a Jackson staff called 911. He was later declared dead at a UCLA medical center.
Propofal is administered in hospitals by anesthesiologists during surgery but the star was under a lot of pressure and instead used it to get some sleep a head of the concerts he was to have in London.
