Kampala is calm this morning though most of the shops remain closed. There is generally low activity with very few cars in the city. Some roads remain closed. Down town Kampala is still filled with burnt tyres after yesterday's riots.

Most of the shops down town have shattered windows and the taxi park is not as busy as always because generally the passengers are few. The MTN service centre on Kampala road has closed until Monday and Barclays Bank on Luwum Street was still closed by around 10:30am.

NBS is currently showing how the Military is arresting people in Kazo and Kawempe. The problem is distinguishing between the rioters and those who are innocent.

One person from Masaka has this to say "Sincerely speaking, NO Shop in Masaka town is open!! Hardwares, pharmacies, wholesalers etc...are all Closed! This has also followed unidentified group of people who went on spreading posters in shops and on streets ordering people NOT to open any business today!

Even in the market, you can hardly find people buying or even selling goods due to the fear surrounding all parts of Masaka.

People here are now standing next to their shops, wondering what next! You can hardly find any shop open even those selling eatables!!"
