The next batch of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) results once released will be available on ones' phone by sending a text message to 6600 for those on the Zain, UTL and MTN Networks. The charge for the sms will be Ugx 500.

The move will certainly be embraced by many as it provides an alternative to the otherwise long queues and distances candidates have had to travel just to establish the status of their academic credentials. Plans are under away to have other networks like WARID, Orange among others to get on board.

Meanwhile, UNEB has introduced new security features to its certificates which will make it difficult for those with intentions of forging certificates. The certificate now comes with a security bar code that is not visible by the naked eye. This will be helpful in reducing the rate of forged certificates on the market.

It might not be a solution to the forged ones that might be already in circulation but it is a move in the positive direction. The mobile phone has proved to be a vital tool in our day to day lives. Similar solutions are available like checking for your parking balance from multiplex, Getting latest news, and forex rates among others.
