IPC Women arrested at EC Offices on Jinja Road
A demonstration by Inter Party Cooperation (IPC) women was foiled this morning at the Electoral Commission offices opposite the Centenary Park on Jinja road. Scores of women converged around the Electoral Commission offices.

The women kept on entering the EC offices one by one only to regroup later forcing the police to swing into action. According to the spokesperson of FDC, Wafula Oguttu, the ladies had gone to deliver a letter to Eng. Badru Kiggundu asking him to resign for he was incompetent.

Police deployed sniffer dogs that forced some of the women to take off for their dear lives. However, some remained and these are the ones who were arrested, and taken to the Central Police Station and Jinja Road Police Station.

The FDC President came to check on the women in one of the police stations. FDC is one of the parties under the Inter Party Cooperation. The IPC promised a number of demonstrations, and the Monday morning women's demo was one of them.
