In just a week, Uganda has been hit by two landslides one in Eastern Uganda, Bududa located 170km from the capital city leaving over 90 dead and now the latest is in Western Uganda on the border with Rwanda which left 3 dead.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Kabale Shafik Sekandi has reported that five houses have been swept. There has been a heavy down pour and the sub county of Rubahya has been cut off, and roads closed. Kakereke houses have been washed away including a house to a Chairman that collapsed but luckily enough the wife and the children were rescued unhurt. Soils are still collapsing and it continues to rain heavily as confirmed by the Deputy RDC.

Heaps of soils have been dumped in the middle of the road making it difficult to get to the affected area. The Minister for Disaster Preparedness who was appearing on NTV's the Spot programme was requested to send help to the venue by a caller.
