Prof. Apollo Nsibambi has been discharged from Mulago Hospital where he has been undergoing treatment after the Monday helicopter crash in Bugiri District. The Prime Minister was from Bududa District after receiving relief supplies for the Bududa Victims who survived the landslide that left over 90 dead and 300 unaccounted for.
The pilot forced the choper down after it developed mechanical problems. It hit a tree near Bugiri Hospital where the occupants were admitted briefly before they were transferred to Mulago Hospital by another helicopter that was dispatched by his Excellency the President.
The Other occupants who included the Permanent secretary Pius Bigirimana, the ADC to the Prime Minister, two press men and the co-pilot have all been discharged. The pilot is still admitted. Meanwhile, a team headed by Chris Mudoola has been put in place to investigate the mishap a return with a report of their findings in two weeks.
The doctors have given the Prime Minister six weeks to rest.
