William Kakooma has been awarded 50Mn shillings to surrender rights of ownership to the song he composed way back in 1962 that became the National Anthem. He was paid 2,000 Shs as compensation for his composition in 1962.
Last year, Kakooma was offered 150mn as settlement out of court which he rejected opting for 4.5Bn. Now court has awarded Kakooma 50Mn for the National Anthem to be owned by the state and not both as it is for now.
