Leading local Television NTV Uganda has yet again started another program aimed at sensitizing the public about tricks that conmen or 'Bafere' use in extorting money and other valuables from unsuspecting individuals.
The program dubbed 'Trickstars' is presented by Peter Katonene and will go a long way in bringing to lime light some of the tricks these Bafere use which will at least save a few souls out there.
In today's show that was on between 4:30 and 5:00pm at least three tricks were revealed as under:
In this one two gentlemen dropped some stuff wrapped up in a cloth and stood at a distance as another woman who was working with them came out of the bank with a customer who had just withdrawn some good money.
As the the woman together with the one armed with the money are busy walking, they are approached by these men telling them that they have just gone over some stuff which brings bad luck.
Remember this other woman is working with them and she quickly reacts saying oh my God what are we going to do because I'm a ''wealthy'' woman and I don't want to loose my wealth. The men say don't worry.
The men say that is not a problem however all you need to do is go to a Mango tree Meanwhile, they are on Kampala road which has no Mango Trees so they are forced to look for a Mango tree.
On getting the Mango tree, the conmen start speaking words which are not connected of course fooling you into believing that they are communicating to some super powers of sorts.
The first woman is told to go to the mango tree and say a few words which words will drive away the bad omen. As she is making her way there, she is told to leave her handbag behind, first she is reluctant but later she leaves her bag behind and heads for the mango tree.
She comes back pretending like she is all alright after casting the demons and bad omen away. The second woman is told to go and utter the same words to the tree but she wants to go with the hand bag simply because there was money, but they insist on her not going with the bag.
She leaves the bag behind as she makes her way to the mango tree, it is on coming back that she notices these were conmen and they had fled off with the money.
